Are you looking for more from life but not sure how to get it?
Do you have unfulfilled passions, hopes or dreams?
Are you wanting to earn more money, have more successful relationships or achieve things that you currently think are beyond you?
Are you confused about how to move forward in your work, career or personal life?
What is life coaching?
Life coaching is a process whereby a life coach works to assist people to identify and achieve their personal goals in life. These goal may be many and varied. For example, I have worked with people to achieve success in the areas of:
• Career satisfaction
• Relationships
• Financial success
• Sports performance
• Life balance
• Personal happiness
Whatever your current situation, life coaching will help you achieve what it is that you really want from life.

How is life coaching different to counselling?
Life coaching and counselling focus on different aspects of a person’s life. Counselling conversations generally focus on problems a person is facing. A counselling client may want help gaining confidence or dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression or anger. Counsellors then try to assist clients to overcome these problems.
In life coaching, the focus tends to be on what a person wants out of life. For example, what are a person’s goals, hopes, dreams or wishes for their life? What do they want from their life but have not yet done? If they had six months to life, what would they really want to do with this time?
Once a life coach helps a coachee to identify his or her future hopes, dreams or goals the coach will assist the person to manifest these goals. This may include making detailed plans with the person to achieve these goals. The life coach then supports the person as they carry out these plans.
Is there crossover between counselling and life coaching?
In general, yes. For many people it is impossible to separate ones past, present and future. For example, Sue (not her real name) is a successful, single 30-something year old woman who sought life coaching with me to help find an ideal romantic partner. Working as a life coach, I helped Sue to identify the sort of man she wanted to meet and to take steps to allow this to happen. Working as a counsellor, I also clarified with Sue what has and has not worked in her past relationships. As it turned out, Sue said that she tended to enter relationships with men who were insecure emotionally. They thus generally became overly dependent on Sue, which often led to the failure of the relationship. I then explored with Sue why she made these relationship choices. This insight helped free Sue to form a relationship with a more emotionally mature man, leading to long-lasting and happy relationship.
In this example, as in many others there are strong links between one’s past, present and future. Combining counselling and life coaching is often the fastest way to promote long-lasting change.

Why do I need a life coach? Shouldn’t I be able to achieve my goals on my own?
Many of us have been taught that we should have to work for what we want in life on our own. Some people even see the act of asking for help as a sign of weakness. However it is almost impossible to achieve all that we want from life on our own. Even world-class athletes such as Novak Djokovic, Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods all have coaches. Why do athletes who are the best in their world in their sport need a coach?
The answer is that no one can be an expert in everything. We all have blind spots or areas where we lack knowledge. Novak Djokovic may have one of the best baseline players in modern tennis, but is he an expert in biomechanics? Nutrition? Fitness training? Massage and recovery? No. While he is a great tennis player he simply cannot be an expert in all aspects of what it takes to be the best tennis player in the world. Instead he hires coaches and assistants to help him in areas that he is weak in. No-one can achieve all their goals on their own-we all need help, advice, feedback and support to achieve our goals.

There are many life coaches out there. Why should I choose you?
In the last 15 years I have talked to many people who have wanted help to achieve their goals. By working with these people I have developed many skills and techniques that are vital in coaching conversations. Unlike other coaches, I have an extensive counselling background and understand in detail the change process. I can use this understanding to help you achieve your goals as quickly as possible.
Is there anything else I should know?
